Connect once and Claude or ChatGPT can call Gravity mid-conversation — the same governed, signal-backed CPG market readings as Ask Gravity, spending from the same credit balance.

You need two accounts: a Gravity account that holds your credits, and an AI app that supports custom connectors. They don’t need to share an email.
The connector is included with Ask Gravity Pro ($149/mo, 75 credits). On any other account it runs on credit packs ($25 for 10, never expire).
Claude Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise. Once added on claude.ai it also works in the Claude desktop and mobile apps.
ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu, on the web at chatgpt.com. On Business and Enterprise an admin has to allow developer mode first.
Pick your AI app. Both end on the same Gravity sign-in page, where you approve the connection.
On claude.ai, open Settings → Connectors.
Click Add custom connector. Name it Gravity and paste the connector URL: https://gravity.aterrastudio.co/mcp. Click Add.
Click Connect next to Gravity. The Gravity sign-in page opens — sign in with the email on your Gravity account, check it says Connect Claude to Gravity, and click Allow access. You return to Claude.
In a new chat, open the tools menu (the + / Search and tools button under the message box) and make sure Gravity is switched on.
Start with the free check — “What’s my Gravity balance?” — then ask a real question. Claude shows when it calls Gravity, and every answer ends with a Source: Ask Gravity line and your remaining credits.
On Claude Team or Enterprise, an owner adds the connector once under Organization settings → Connectors; each member then clicks Connect and signs in with their own Gravity account.
On chatgpt.com, open Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings and switch on Developer mode.
Back in Apps & Connectors, click Create. Name: Gravity. Description: CPG market intelligence from Aterra Studio. MCP server URL: https://gravity.aterrastudio.co/mcp. Authentication: OAuth.
Confirm you trust the connector and click Create. The Gravity sign-in page opens — sign in with the email on your Gravity account and click Allow access.
In a new chat, click + → Developer mode and tick Gravity. Developer-mode connectors are chosen per conversation, so repeat this in each new chat.
Try “What’s my Gravity balance?” (free), then a real question. If ChatGPT answers without calling Gravity, say “Use Gravity to answer this.”
ChatGPT labels developer-mode connectors as unverified and may ask you to confirm before each call — that is expected for custom connectors. Gravity’s tools only read; they never change anything in your account or ChatGPT.
A good first question: “Use Gravity: which claims are gaining momentum in gut-health powders, and which are getting crowded?”
Two tools, deliberately narrow. Your AI gets Gravity’s finished reading — never the raw signal database behind it.
| Tool | Cost | What it returns |
|---|---|---|
| ask_gravity | 1 credit | A category-level market reading with an evidence grade (Strong / Directional / Exploratory) and readiness (Act / Test / Investigate) — the same answer Ask Gravity gives on the web. |
| gravity_account | Free | Your plan, credits left this cycle, pack credits and reset date. |
Questions in Claude, ChatGPT and on gravity.aterrastudio.co/ask all draw on one balance. Pro spends its monthly credits first, then any packs.
Out-of-scope questions, named-brand requests and failed answers cost nothing — the credit is returned automatically.
It reads categories: owned, contested and open positions, claims, price bands, formats. Named-competitor analysis is the Reviewed Gravity Brief.
The Gravity account you sign in with on the approval page — not your Claude or ChatGPT account. Ask “What’s my Gravity balance?” any time; the first line shows which account is connected.
Each time the AI calls ask_gravity is one answer. If you ask several things at once, the AI may split them into separate calls. Ask one complete question per message to keep it to one credit.
Only the question your AI sends to the tool. Gravity never sees the rest of the conversation, your files, or your Claude or ChatGPT account. Questions are logged the same way as on the web, to improve answers.
No. It can ask questions and read your credit balance — nothing else.
Remove or disconnect Gravity in your AI app’s connector settings. You can connect again at any time with the same URL.
Yes — any client that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth. For Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http gravity https://gravity.aterrastudio.co/mcp, then run /mcp to sign in.
Your AI will say so and nothing is charged. Buy a 10-credit pack ($25, never expires) or upgrade to Pro from your account page.
Try Ask Gravity on the web first — your first question is free.
